Review

I devoured this bookโ€ฆ its angsty, full of pain and trauma and I was sucked straight in.

Birdie is 2 years post leaving prison and is rebuilding her life now she is free and starting a new job but when Jarrod a man she thought was firmly in her past, turns up on her first day things take a turn.

I sympathised with Birdie so much, this poor women has been through so much and she is still very much healing from her time inside and all the things that happened in childhood. Jarrod is dealing with his own demons and has had his own struggles whilst being separated from Birdie.

This is very much a second chance love story, about 2 broken people who are struggling to find their way back to themselves but not in the healthiest of ways. While I love the story, Jarrod’s love language was questionable a lot of the time, but I was still rooting for it to all work out for them.

There is a side story running along side the love the story which was just as interesting, I had a good time trying to figure out all the secrets and mystery and it made the story feel whole and gave me a better idea of why the characters were behaving in certain ways.

Overall this was a highly entertaining read, certainly much darker thant the usually light hockey romances from HH but I was so there for it and I highly recommend.

My Rating: 4/5 ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ
