Review
I absolutely loved this book! Sarina never misses when it comes to MM romance, and this one is no exception.
Jethro and Clay are such compelling charactersโpolar opposites in many ways, yet they complement each other perfectly. They first met in their 20s while playing for the same team and living as roommates. But after a major event (no spoilers here!), Clay makes a decision that Jethro doesnโt handle well, leading to years of silence between them. Now, Jethro is unexpectedly traded to the team where Clay is a coach, setting up an incredibly awkward reunion.
The story unfolds in both the past and present, allowing us to fully understand their history, which I loved. Their journey toward reconciliation is beautifully written, with a perfect balance of tension, emotion, and pacing. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and the slow burn makes every moment feel electric.
Itโs hard to choose a favourite between Jethro and Clay because theyโre both so well-developed and easy to root for. Theyโve each faced struggles, though Jethroโs past is particularly rough. Watching them navigate their emotions and reconnect was both heartwarming and deeply satisfying.
Overall, I highly recommend this book! Itโs emotional, uplifting, and guaranteed to leave you with a full heart.
