Review

*Spoiler Review*

I was so excited to get to this book! When I first read the TOG series back in 2017, it was this book that cemented my love for it. Celanea has now travelled to Wendlyn and it’s here that she meets Rowan, who in my humble opinion is the best love interest that Sarah has written, sorry not sorry Rhys.

So much happens in this book, Rowan is not the only new character that we are introduced to, the Witches feature heavily, most Manon and the 13, who again I just love. Then we have Maeve who to be blunt is just awful. Dorian’s new love interest Sorscha, and not forgetting Aedion Ashryer who is the General in Aderlan’s military.

The story swaps back and forth between all these characters POV’s so you know exactly what is happening with everyone, but with the main focus still being on Celaena and Rowan.

Celaena goes through a lot of growth in this book and it’s great to see her starting to accept who she is. I do get why people hate on Rowan in this book, he is very brutish and gruff and I in no way condone how he was treating Celanea, but I do understand why he is acting was like that.

Perhaps the most unlikely team-up in this book is Chaol and Aedion who decide to work together in exchange for information, although this does end quite brutally!

Overall this is my favourite re-read so far.
