What makes you DNF a book? How many have you DNF’d this year?
For me, DNFing a book is a big deal and I try very hard not to do it, but when I do it’s usually because of a couple of things:
- The story is slow and not going anywhere
- The writing is bad
- An unexpected troupe that I don’t like
I’ve only DNF’d one book this year and it was by an author that I usually love which was disappointing. I didn’t finish because the story was slow and slightly boring.
I have gotten better at picking books I’m almost certain I’ll enjoy so hopefully my DNF pile won’t grow too much.
