🌿 Life Lately
Welcome to Other pursuits! Auguest seems to have flown by, its the end of Summer already? I’m not loving that the days area already becoming shorter, on the plus side it does seem like we are getting much needed rain.
I travelled to Wales for my Brothers Wedding which was lovely, the day went off without any drama and it was great to catch up and spend time with the rest of the family. Hubby was also off work for a couple of weeks so spending some qaulity time together was great. One of our favourtie things to do is to go out for breakfast so we sqeezed a few of those in!
📚 Bookish Highlights
Reading took a little bit of a hiatus, I feel like I barely read anything, turns out that slump wasn’t as done with me as I thought 🤦🏻♀️I did get a couple of great ones in!
- My favourite read – Mac Meyers Needs Me by Helena Hunting
- The book that surprised me – The Magic We Made by Meg Cabot
Special mention, I’m 30% into an ARC read of Alama Vampires and I am OBSESSED! Its litrally giving me life a the moment, the tension that is building between the main characters is chefs kiss, like no notes 👌🏻
🎧 Beyond the Books
Podcast rec for this month is an oldie but goodie.
We’re Here To Help – I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much listening to a podcast. From the callers with their insane stories to Jake and Gareths unhinged advice, I’m almost always garanteed to laugh when I pop an episode on.
Season 4 of Reacher started dropping and I am living for it! I think I may be a teeny bit obsessed with Alan Ritchson 😂 I also started watch season 3 of My Life With the Walter Boys, I’m enjoying it but I’ve not been binging it like I normally would, I think I have 4 eps left? and finally started watcing The Rookie! Only 2 episodes in but enjoying it so far.
Movies, I did watch a couple, including the New Anaconda Movie. Now I love Jack Black and Paul Rudd but this movie was diabolical! Like shockingly bad… the story line was all over the place and it just didnt make me laugh as much as I was hoping. Also rewatched Grown Ups 1 and 2 – hilarious as always,
✨ Small Joys
- The weather being so lovely and sunny.
- I’ve been baking a bit recently which has been fun, I love creating sweet treats!
- Created some IG coontent for the first time in months and I’ve been spending some time on threads which has been interesting.
💭 And Finally…
Although I’m sad that summer is almost over, I am looking forward to the cosy weather and getting wrapped up in blanket with a tea and a good book. The Halloween countdown is on!
