The Friday 5: Five Things I’m Doing Instead of Doomscrolling

Happy Friday, and welcome back to Friday Five!

If you’re new here, the idea is simple: every Friday I share five bookish picks around a different theme. Sometimes it’ll be books, sometimes characters, tropes, playlists, adaptations, or anything else that gets us talking.

This week’s theme is: Five Things I’m Doing Instead of Doomscrolling

Whether you’re looking for your next read or just fancy a bit of bookish chat, here are my five picks.

Reading

This one is pretty obvious but it’s shocking how often I was reaching for my phone and not my book.

Cross Stitch

This is a newish hobby I’ve started. I’m finding it a great replacement for having my phone in hand.

Baking

My waistline is not thanking me for this one but I’ve made some really delicious stuff recently, mini quiche, cookies and chocolate cake.

Writing

Mostly blog content which has been great, I feel so back in the flow again and I’ve even been creating content for IG, the mojo is coming back!

Playing Sims

It’s the perfect brain break for me.

Your Turn!

If you have a blog, why not join in? Write your own Friday Five, whether you choose this week’s theme or come up with one of your own, and leave me a link in the comments. I’d love to read it!

Not a blogger? No problem! Share your five picks in the comments and let’s keep the conversation going.

I’ll be back next Friday with a brand new theme!

  1. Such excellent alternatives to doomscrolling! I read, bake, crochet … as well as go outside and hang out with my chickens, and see how the garden grows 🙂
