Hello, blogging world!
It’s been a hot minute since I posted — I think it’s been just over a year… so you might be wondering: why did I stop, and what’s with the comeback?
Firstly, I loved blogging and I’m proud of this site. It’s one of the reasons I kept it live. I stopped because I thought Instagram was the way forward in terms of sharing my love of books and creating content — and for a little while, it was. I built a lovely little community over there, and it was great meeting other book lovers.
But slowly, over the last five or six months, the noise has gotten louder and louder. The negativity and the constant book drama have made maintaining my account feel like a tough slog. I went from posting six times a week, to four, and now I’m lucky if I have the motivation to post weekly.
2026 rolled in and the motivation to be constantly engaging still didn’t come back. For a while I thought it might just be burnout, but I’m not so sure anymore. I think the pressure to perform and crank out content regularly just became too much.
Then I remembered this little blog — where everything began — and how relaxed and chill blogging used to feel. The need to post every day was non-existent, the vibes were much more laid back, and there was no pesky algorithm to compete with.
Since it’s ten years in November since I started this blog, it feels kind of perfect to pick it back up again. I’ve learned so much over the years, both in blogging and content creation, and I’m excited to blend those two worlds together and have a more relaxed space to share my thoughts again.
So, going forward, I’ll be posting my reviews again — because for some reason Instagram hates them, but they’re my favourite things to write, and they deserve space to be heard. I’ll also be sharing one bookish culture posts at some point as well, which I’m genuinely excited about.
The only other change is the name and branding. Books and Other Pursuits will be becoming Books with T. I changed the name over on Instagram around six months ago, and I want everything to feel cohesive over here on the blog too. The blog URL will stay as Books and Other Pursuits for now while I sort the technical side — but everything here is officially Books with T
So that’s the plan.
- More reviews to start
- More long-form thoughts – eventually
- More space for the kind of conversations that don’t fit in a caption.
Ten years in November feels like the perfect excuse to start a new chapter and I’m genuinely excited about it.
We’re doing this.
