Review

This was a re-read, I first read this book last year but completely forgot the entire plot… and upon reading again I now know why. Good God was this book a total mess. I’m really confused as to why it has so many great reviews.

The writing was fine but the story itself was well there was just a lot going on. We have the brother’s best friend trope, the alpha male tope, the powerful rich CEO trope, forced proximity trope, the opposites attract trope, I could go on but I think you get the idea.

As for the characters, Ava was ok a bit boring and whiny if I’m honest, but it was Alex that gave me the real ick. I think almost literally everything he did made my skin crawl. I think the real tipping point for me though was the sex scenes. Having the MMC call the FMC derogatory names during sexy time was just uncomfortable reading for me.

Yeah so, I didn’t like this book and that’s about it really.

Review

I read this straight after twisted love and I’m still asking myself why I put myself through it. Oh yeah that’s right because TikTok said this series was amazing and awesome!

This book was marginally better than the first but Jesus the characters were so freaking unlikable. Hated Rhys from the first chapter. Guy was a dull as dishwater, like totally devoid of any sort of personality. Not sure why Bridget was even attracted to him beyond his physical appearance and even that didn’t really make up for his grumpy asshole attitude.

The storyline had potential but even that got boring after a while, honestly don’t know why I didn’t just DNF? The spice was basically a copy and paste from Twisted love, again with the name calling during sex, like wtf?? Honestly no judgment but does anyone in real life actually find that a turn on.

Anyway, I’m so done wasting my time on this series.
