Summary
Nash Morgan was always known as the good Morgan brother, with a smile and a wink for everyone. But now, this chief of police is recovering from being shot and his Southern charm has been overshadowed by panic attacks and nightmares. He feels like a broody shell of the man he once was. Nash isn’t about to let anyone in his life know he’s struggling. But his new next-door neighbor, smart and sexy Lina, sees his shadows. As a rule, she’s not a fan of physical contact unless she initiates it, but for some reason Nash’s touch is different. He feels it too. The physical connection between them is incendiary, grounding him and making her wonder if exploring it is worth the risk.
Too bad Lina’s got secrets of her own, and if Nash finds out the real reason she’s in town, he’ll never forgive her. Besides, she doesn’t do relationships. Ever. A hot, short-term fling with a local cop? Absolutely. Sign her up. A relationship with a man who expects her to plant roots? No freaking way. Once she gets what she’s after, she has no intention of sticking around. But Knockemout has a way of getting under people’s skin. And once Nash decides to make Lina his, he’s not about to be dissuaded…even if it means facing the danger that nearly killed him.

Review
I knew I wanted to read it last year after I finished The things we never got over. I really liked Nash in that first book so I couldn’t wait to get to know him more in his own book.
I did really enjoy this book, it made me feel all the feelings, laughter, tears and thoroughly entertained.
I thought the writing was great and the story was well paced. I did think some of the mental health issues that Nash as going through kind of righted themselves a bit to quickly and with hardly any intervention. I think it would have fully fleshed out his character has this been explored a bit more in depth but overall didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story.
I love getting to see all the characters from the TTWNGO, especially Sloane she is probably one of my favourite side characters in this book.
I enjoyed the banter between Lina and Nash, their connection felt genuine, and I could see why each of them had their own issues with getting into a relationship, but they just fit so well together. I thought that Lina’s back story was interesting and because we got so much information about who she is and her history it gave her character real depth same with Nash really, and this not something you always find in romance books which was great.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I was just as great as the first book and I cannot wait to read Things we Left Behind!
My Rating: 4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟
