Hello and welcome to this weeks Let’s talk. Today I thought I look at popular books that just were for me.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Oh god I hated it. For me as someone who has witnessed domestic abuse, this story just felt like one giant clichรฉ. I did actually review this one, you can find it here.
Twisted Love by Ana Huang

The story was all over the place and the MMC was a giant red flag!
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

Nothing specific it was just a little slow and boring! ย
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Out of all these books, this is the one that I really wanted to love but I couldnโt even finish it. Sorry, I know everyone loves this book.
A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

Again, nothing super specific it just wasnโt as exciting as everyone has been making out.
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Everything about this story was meh, the characters were ridiculous and didnโt communicate with each other properly and the so called twist was way to predictable.

The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent

Oh man this book! It was everywhere at the beginning of the year, actually I still see people posting about it now. I’ve read a few Vampire novels and for me this one fell very flat. I didn’t like any of the characters’ and the story pacing was just off!

Over to You…
What popular books didn’t work for you? Let me know in the comments and I’ll catch you next time! Bye ๐

I really dislike The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, largely due to the fact that the romance is a bully romance despite the fact that the book is marketed at teens, and I find that to be kinda “problematic.” I think the book might’ve worked better and I’d have less qualms with the romance if it was marketed as New Adult or Adult, but as it stands, I just hate everything about it (especially how fans justify and romanticize the bullying/abuse the romance involves, which is…just yuck!).

Absolutely agree with you! It would have been better as a NA novel.
